Phat Dat makes another donation of VND 5 billion to aid Thuan An City against Covid-19

Amidst the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic in the southern provinces, including the “industrial capital” Thuan An – Binh Duong, Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corporation (stock code: PDR) has promptly sponsored a medical equipment package valued at VND 5 billion, supporting the province to overcome medical machinery and supply shortages in the fight against the epidemic, and contributing to the work of screening, tracing and early detection of Covid-19 infections. Previously, PDR had sent about 15,000 antigen rapid tests to Binh Duong’s Center for Disease Control (CDC), filling the province’s epidemic prevention medical equipment supply.

On the morning of 6th July 2021, at a ceremony held in the office of the People’s Committee of Thuan An City, Phat Dat presented the medical equipment package to the Steering Committee of Thuan An city for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Binh Duong province.

The package includes 3 automated DNA/RNA extraction instruments, 2 quantitative real-time PCR systems (RT-PCR), 4,000 bio kits for the PCR systems, extractors, and accessories. These are the current leading equipment for Covid-19 testing, which allows multiple samples simultaneously with the highest performance and accuracy while reducing the turnaround time for covid-19 test results.

This package is not only an act in the course of medical equipment crowdfunding to lighten the burden on the State budget, but also the timely support to improve the capacity in testing, tracing and early detection of Covid-19 cases in Thuan An city in particular and Binh Duong province in general.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam – Chairman of Thuan An City People’s Committee, elaborated: “Thuan An City – with the largest population in Binh Duong province and high concentration of workers in industrial parks and clusters, faces a very high risk of infection in the workplace. The epidemic situation is deteriorating with 76 quarantine areas and an increasing number of positive cases. All the forces focus on zoning and blocking, even through the night, while medical equipment is in an alarming shortage. Currently, the City People’s Committee is trying to access many sources of vaccines and especially medical equipment to speed up tracing and testing. As such, the timely support from Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corporation is highly appreciated. As soon as we receive the medical equipment for the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, we will be able to expand the deployment of large-scale testing as in the set plan for the quick control of outbreaks.

Understanding such difficulties, Mr. Bui Quang Anh Vu – CEO of PDR, affirmed that the Company always accompanies and demonstrates its social responsibility through many activities. Besides, he believes that under the management and administration of the City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and other departments, Thuan An city will soon control the epidemic to ensure a healthy living environment and quick economic recovery.

Up to now, Phat Dat has donated nearly VND 9 billion to the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Campaign in many localities and trustworthy organizations nationwide.

The automated DNA/RNA extraction instrument is the most advanced generation of automatic extraction and purification machines available today, allowing the isolation and purification of DNA & RNA from various types of samples. Owing to a capacity of up to 32 samples/run (resulting in 4-5 times faster than manual extraction), the turnaround time for test results is about 25 minutes with high accuracy and a minimum of 99% purity.

Currently, the RT-PCR is the most accurate laboratory method for detecting SARS-CoV-2 virus in the human body. The sensitivity of RT-PCR is 99%, and the specificity reaches 100%.
