Green apartments in sight – A "healing remedy" in the heart of the city
Amid the increasingly crowded and concrete-dominated urban landscape of HCMC, green real estate projects that offer living spaces connected to nature, fresh air, and cool environments have become an ideal choice for urban residents. More than just a place to live, green apartments serve as a “healing remedy” in the heart of the city.
Green apartments – A sustainable living solution in modern urban areas
According to the mid-term 2024 Population and Housing Census results released by the General Statistics Office, Ho Chi Minh City’s population reached approximately 9.52 million people as of April 1, 2024. With administrative boundary expansions, the city’s total population is expected to rise to around 13.6 million. Given its rapid population growth and urban development, HCMC is the largest metropolis in the country and a vibrant hotspot for the real estate market, with diverse supply and demand.
However, rapid urbanization has also led to consequences such as shrinking living spaces and increasing infrastructure pressure. In this context, green living spaces that harmonize with nature are becoming more sought-after and prioritized by residents. Residential areas featuring comprehensive “green” ecosystems, from green spaces and eco-friendly amenities to sustainable lifestyles, are emerging as a new trend in housing choices.
Living connected to nature reduces stress hormones by up to 37%
Scientific studies have shown that green living spaces and eco-friendly building materials enhance health, longevity, and happiness levels among residents. A 2022 study by the University of Michigan found that exposure to green spaces can reduce stress hormones in the body by up to 37%. Similarly, a 2020 study by the University of Oregon revealed that regular exposure to greenery, even in office environments, can lower the risk of depression by up to 58%.
Research published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology in 2021 by Marlon Nieuwenhuis and colleagues also found that incorporating plants into workspaces can increase productivity by up to 15%.
Numerous other studies and reports have demonstrated that integrating natural elements into architectural design can yield significant economic benefits. The 2023 Economics of Biophilia report by Terrapin Bright Green indicated that eco-friendly office buildings can command rental premiums of 5-12% compared to traditional designs, while nature-integrated projects can increase real estate value by up to 25%.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Duy, Deputy Director of the Property Management Division at Savills Hanoi, noted that embracing green trends and transformations gives developers a competitive edge in attracting and retaining customers, achieving faster occupancy rates, and securing better pricing for sales and rentals. Green projects not only align with global and governmental sustainability and environmental protection goals but also meet the practical needs of residents.
“Although the initial construction costs for green buildings may be higher than traditional projects, sustainable operations deliver better performance and long-term savings, particularly in reducing energy consumption costs,” Mr. Duy added.
When nature flows through every concrete vein
In recent years, biophilic design has become a prominent trend in real estate architecture, especially in high-end projects. The core purpose of this design philosophy is to harness positive energy from nature, creating a peaceful living environment regardless of external conditions. This allows residents to experience the restorative power and mental balance that nature provides.
Responding to the growing and diverse demands of customers, modern real estate projects are compelled to shift their development mindset, investing strategically in green and sustainable living values. Leading this trend in the Northeast hub of HCMC is La Pura, a pioneering project following the “green urbanism” model, envisioned as a “healing city.”
La Pura applies biophilic design, maximizing greenery integration into urban living spaces to create a “panoramic green” effect.
The essence of “nature flowing through every concrete vein” is embodied in La Pura’s architectural details. Here, nature is present in every corner, with a unique multi-tiered landscape system featuring four distinct scenic layers and ten levels of greenery coverage.
Most impressive is the 300-meter-long green façade, acting as a natural air filter, minimizing dust and noise from major traffic routes. Additionally, residents can unwind in interconnected gardens that foster a deep connection between people and nature.
The 300-meter green frontage is a standout feature of La Pura, located along National Highway 13 in the Northeast of HCMC.
Notably, La Pura also offers an “all-in-one” living space with over 100 unique in-house amenities, catering to every need, from shopping and relaxation to sports and healthcare. Highlights include hanging waterfall gardens, elevated flower bridges, non-stop jogging trails amid nature, 12 sky pools in diverse styles and dozens of healing gardens. Every recreational experience at La Pura is an opportunity to immerse in lush natural surroundings, enjoying fresh air and serene landscapes rarely found in the bustling city.
